ASHTANGA EXPLORATION

Mondays 10.00am - 11.30 am

In this dynamic class we will deconstruct the postures of the Primary Series up to Navasana (boat pose), taking a closer look at what is happening in the poses, externally as well as internally, & how they build on each other.

You will playfully experience the interplay of foundation, balance, strength & flexibility in each of the postures.

This class is suitable for those who are completely new to Ashtanga as well as those who have some experience & would like to revisit the postures of the first half of the Primary Series.

ASSISTED SELF PRACTICE

Tuesday & Thursdays 7.00am - 9.00am

Mysore-style is the tradional way to practice Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. You work through the postures of the Ashtanga Yoga system you are familiar with at your own pace, rather than being 'led' by the teacher or following the pace of the group. New postures are introduced when the student is ready, depending on their level of ability.

In a Mysore setting you will practise alongside other practitioners under the guidance of a teacher. The teacher will guide & assist you on a one-to-one basis according to your individual needs within this group setting.

Expect hands on adjustments, please let the teacher know before you start your practice if you are feeling uncomfortable with this & prefer to only receive verbal guidance.

A Mysore-Style class is suitable for students of all ages, abilities & levels of experience.

Please let the teacher know if you are completely new to Ashtanga. You can quietly observe the class for a few minutes to get a feeling for the room & what is going on, before you will be introduced to the breathing technique (Ujjayi)& Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar A&B).
